Welcome to Grace United Methodist Ministry!

Grace Ministry is a newly blended church family, born out of the merger of five United Methodist congregations in New Castle.   Just like many blended families today, we celebrate all the people that the Holy Spirit brings into our family.   Since we’re United Methodist, we believe that the Holy Spirit does indeed prompt and urge all people to come together to worship God.  

We are a come-as-you-are family.   After generations of serving together in the community, we became very intentional about deepening our partnership in ministry and service together in our community.   After in-depth studies, consultations, and collaborations, we became Grace United Methodist Ministry in July 2020.

The reason why we have the word “ministry” and not “church” in our name is a deliberate choice.   We want to be continually outward focused on how we can best love one another and serve our community for the sake of Jesus Christ.   We take seriously the call to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our world.   We want to live out Jesus’ Great Commandment to love God and love our neighbor.   It really isn’t rocket science.   The prophet Micah outlined it well: “He has told you, O mortal, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?”

We are also a designated “Lighthouse Congregation,” one of only twenty-three United Methodist Churches in Western Pennsylvania.   Lighthouse Congregations are particularly equipped to welcome anyone whose church has closed or disaffiliated and who wish to remain in the United Methodist Church.   We act as a resting place for those seeking a new United Methodist faith community, with people who will care for and provide a haven of peace and grace.

This means we love you, we care about you, and we’re here for you.
